A workshop organized by iesResearch. iesResearch is a subsidiary of iGroup Asia that supports scholarly publications like ACS (American Chemical Society), IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers), etc., in Asia.

 

Title: The Making of World-Class Research: Workflow & Tools

Venue: Lecture Theatre 6 (Sunway University Building, Level 1)

Target audience: Librarians & Researchers

 

Synopsis:

It takes time to build world-class research universities of quality and substance. But getting the right components together at the outset enhances the chances of success. This workshop focuses on the role of future librarians in research support and the future skill sets of researchers. Librarians could optimize their resources by embedding the research best practices into both components of workflow and tools. Researchers could personalize their workflow by including world-class best practices from Discovery to Authoring and Engagement of their research outcomes. It is an opportunity for the librarians and the researchers to enhance their skills striving towards better quality, greater visibility, and higher citations!

 

This workshop will last for two hours, and the schedule is:

 

1.            Background & Trends (at the site)

•             The critical components of world-class research, by Wong WF, PhD/MBA (30 minutes)

2.            Discovery (via Zoom)

•             Lookout for novel research ideas from your supervisors’ work, by Chang HW, PhD (30 minutes)

3.            Authoring (via Zoom)

•             Personal assistants of your research reading and writing, by Hsu Iris (30 minutes); and

4.            Engagement (at the site)

•             Graphical abstract and research outreach, by Tang KC (30 minutes)
