Collection

The Sunway Education Group Archive Collection contains valuable print and digital archival materials pertaining to the history and development of Sunway Education Group. 

The collection consists of annual reports, annual reviews, magazines, newsletters, prospectus, programme books, videos, audio recordings, graduation videos, convocation ceremony booklets, Sunway University Press publications, Library handbook, and photographs.

  • Access to e-collection is open access. However, news clippings are subjected to Malaysia Reprographic copyright licenses.

 

Location

Reference to the Archive collection can be made in the Sunway Education Group Archive Room located at the Ground Level of the Library. All materials are not for loan and must be referred to in the Archive Room.

 

Opening Hours of Sunway Education Group Archive Room

Access to the Archive Room collection with the assistance of a Library staff may be made during the following hours:

Monday – Friday 9.00 am – 10.00 am (OPEN)
10.00 am – 5.00 pm (Request through online form)
Saturday – Sunday
CLOSED
Public Holidays
CLOSED

  1. The Archive Room is for preservation of Sunway Education Group records and rare books only and is not a general library reading room.
  2. Users are responsible for all archive materials that they are consulting. Materials must be handled with the utmost care and kept in their correct order. On no account may they be removed from the Archive Room.
  3. Eating, drinking, and smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not allowed in the Archive Room.
  4. Do not make markings, use correction fluid or highlighters on archive materials.
  5. Do not rest items such as bags, notes and laptops on archive materials.
  6. Do not insert slips or notes in the gutter of a book.
  7. Do not shuffle loose items to fit them in an enclosure, but handle them individually.
  8. Photography is only allowed at the discretion of the Library staff. Flash photography is not allowed.
  9. Users wishing to publish any quotation or information, including pictorial content, derived from any material in the Archive must apply in writing for prior permission. In addition, it is also the responsibility of the user to obtain permission to publish from the copyright holder.
  10. The Library reserves the right to refuse access to certain archive materials including fragile items and items undergoing conservation treatment or in an exhibition. 
  11. Most of the materials may be accessed. However, exceptions may be made on grounds of confidentiality, the protection of personal data or for conservation reasons.
